COIM USA Receives APR Design® for Recyclability Recognition

COIM USA, proudly announces that our NOVACOTE® SF 716A + CA 336 2K PU Solvent Free Laminating Adhesive System for multi-layer flexible packaging has received APR Recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) for meeting the criteria for recycling according to the APR Design Guide.

APR Recognition is a significant milestone for companies seeking to advance sustainable packaging solutions. The designation confirms that COIM USA’s adhesive technology is compatible with established North American recycling processes, helping brand owners and converters design flexible packaging that supports a circular economy.

The recognized adhesive system underwent rigorous laboratory testing using APR’s Critical Guidance Protocol. The results verified that when using compatible Polyethylene (PE) films, in coordination with COIM USA’s laminating adhesive system, structures are capable of achieving APR recognition.

With this recognition, COIM continues to expand its portfolio of sustainably focused adhesive systems. NOVACOTE SF 716A + CA 336 now carries both APR recognition for the North American recycling system as well as Recyclass recognition for the European system, enabling global alignment. Additionally, COIM’s sustainable portfolio includes a BPI certified compostable adhesive system as well as several additional Recyclass recognized adhesive systems for the European market.
